But, what makes the city is its people, the famous JAZZ music that they play and the Cajun cooking they stir up.

All of that is lost.

True, New Orleans residents are gradually settling down, but many are still looking for their children, family and friends. Many more are looking for jobs but could not find references or employment records.

They need your help!

Most of them do not have access to the internet or even pen and paper. You can help them by sending their information to us to post on this website and make it possible for others to find them!

This website is set up to help people find evacuees from New Orleans and to help them
maintain one constant point of contact even as they move from one place to another.

This website does not solicit donations.
Volunteer and help will be much appreciated.

We realize that many do not have access to a computer or the internet. We will accept written information and photos and post them on this website.

We do not post or disclose any temporary location or telephone number or any personal or private information.

We will ONLY forward:

  • "change of address requests" to evacuees so that they can respond/reply
  • employment opportunities from potential employers
  • invoices from credit cards, utility companies
  • mail from insurance agencies
  • mail from government agencies
  • any mail specifically requested (in writing and notarized) by registered New Orleans evacuee
In other words, the evacuees decide if they want to respond and be found or not. Volunteers, we need your help to collect their names and their New Orleans addresses and telephone numbers before the evacuation because this is their last know address and telephone number that others have and will use to try to find them.

Please let us know where to forward their mail.

This is a free service to the individual (NOT business) evacuees. Our posted handling fee includes $3 (out of the $8 paid for each forwarded mail that comes from a business) to cover the processing at shelters, churches and other volunteer organizations to defray costs.

We reserve the right to revise all terms of service.

To New Orleans' Evacuees:

As you move from one location to the other, send us your new address so that we could continue to help you stay in touch with people looking for you and only if you like.

You could also post your employment needs/job wanted and other urgent needs (subject to our approval and discretion) and your resume to make it easy for employers to find you and arrange for interviews.

Once you are registered, you may use this website's address as your single point of contact so that you are not lost when you move around. This way, every time your temporary address or telephone number changes,

you will only need to notify us to change your temporary address and telephone number to not lose touch

We will never give out your temporary address or temporary telephone number. We will only forward mail or forward calls to you as appropriate and as our resources permit.

In order for us to post your information and photo, we need to have your information notarized or witnessed by a church official or a government official.

We will only list your full name, your New Orleans address and telephone number so that people can find you by this information.

Consider this your permanent (virtual) New Orleans home on the internet.

You will be listed/indexed at your New Orleans address and telephone number on this website so that people can find you even if all they have is your New Orleans telephone number or address and even years from now.

This mail forwarding is free for individuals mailing to individuals. Businesses will be charged an $8 postage and handling fee for each letter or postcard to be forwarded. We will only forward mail that contains a self addressed, unsealed and stamped envelop for use to send return mail.

For FREE mail forwarding service, we do not guarantee delivery/forwarding your mail in a timely manner. Expedited service costs $8 each. We do not know how the response will be or the actual cost to provide it. We reserve the right to modify our terms of service.
